This LARGE porcelain Black Water Carved Soap Dispenser is glazed with Ice Blue Celadon and decorated  with Black underglaze and dripped with hot paraffin wax.  It is then slowly wiped with a wet sponge leaving behind a black raised surface where the wax touched the pot.  This technique is known as “water carving” or “water etching.”  Every soap dispenser  is a little different in design depending on where the wax falls, making it truly one of a kind.
