Black Water Carved Blue Celadon Porcelain Mug
Porcelain cup is glazed in Blue Celadon, decorated with Black underglaze and dripped with hot wax. It is then slowly wiped with a wet sponge leaving behind a black raised surface where the wax touched the pot. This technique is known as “water carving “ or “water etching.” Every cup is a little different in decor depending on where the wax falls, making it one of a kind. The handle has porcelain slip dots at the top, which gives it a tactile feel under your thumb. You will want to hold and rub your mug handle while drinking tea or coffee and contemplate your day.
